Invitation Letters

Before requesting an invitation letter:

  • You need to be registered in the CERN and ALICE databases ✅
  • Your Team Leader (or Deputy Team Leader) must be informed ✅

Procedure for obtaining invitation letter for visas for Switzerland and France

In accordance with the Status Agreement with CERN, Switzerland and France facilitate the entry of members of the Organization’s personnel onto their territories. Where relevant, detailed procedures for obtaining visas apply.

Invitation letters must be issued with the agreement of the Team Leader (or their deputy) of the collaborating Institute. The Team Leader will be notified automatically about any invitation request from one of his group member. Please ensure that you have the approval of your Team Leader prior submission of your request.
